Brewery Project
Wild Barrel Brewing
Project Details
Concept
- Convert an existing plumbing fixture showroom and warehouse to a new craft brewery and taproom with an emphasis on barrel-aged beers.
- Convert an existing round shower head display room to a group space inside of a giant barrel.
Challenges
- Since the existing plumbing fixture showroom was already an open space, the goal was to utilize as much of the existing structure as possible, keeping construction costs to a minimum.
- Since part of the brewery concept will be focused on wild fermentation, Hauck decided to keep the wild yeast areas separate from the “clean” yeast areas to limit cross-contamination. The solution was a split facility with the brewery and “clean” fermentations on one side of the building and wild barrel fermentation on the other side embedded into the customer area.
