Meet Dustin Hauck of Hauck Architecture in Kearny Mesa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dustin Hauck.

Dustin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have been practicing architecture for over twenty years. As the principal of Hauck Architecture, I am responsible for all of the firm’s projects and designs from feasibility studies, concept designs, project management and construction document production. I’ve been a local resident of San Diego since 1985 and founded Hauck Architecture in Nov. 2007.

In the first five years I worked mostly on custom residential projects in the coastal zone and some commercial tenant improvement projects. As an avid home brewer and member of the local QUAFF home brew club, I was seeing a lot of friends and fellow club members starting their own breweries. With experience in hospitality projects and brewing, it seemed like a logical choice to pursue a brewery project. Plan 9 Alehouse in Escondido and Benchmark Brewing in Grantville were the first brewery projects in 2012. Since then, we’ve become exclusive to projects for breweries, distilleries, ciders and the like. To date, we’ve work on over 90 brewery projects, establishing Hauck Architecture as the go-to for experienced brewery design and engineering.
